Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1980. Second Printing. Fine in light green cloth covered boards with silver colored text stamping on the spine and metallic green decorations with the same decorations on the front board. An octavo measuring 9 by 6 inches. In a very near fine, unclipped dust jacket with with very light rubbing at the upper and lower edges of the spine area and with a small, tape repaired closed tear to the front panel at its lower edge and a 1/4 inch chip from the upper edge of the rear panel. Printed in the same year as the the first British printing by George Allen & Unwin in 1980. 472 pages including an index and text followed by a fine, two-color, fold-out map of "The West of Middle-Earth at the end of The Third Age". A collection of stories including: Of Tuor and His coming to Gondolin, Narn I Hin Hurin, A Description of the Island of Numenor, Aldarion and Erendis, The Line of Elros: Kings of Numenor, The History of Galadriel and Celeborn, The Disaster of the Gladden Fields, Ciriion and Eorl and the Friendship of Gondor and Rohan, The Quest of Erebor, The Hunt For The Ring, The Battles of the Fords Of Isen, The Druedain, The Istari and The Palantiri.
